A short post after a long hiatus, way too long of a break.

So many things have happened in such a short span of three years. It hardly feels like only three years have passed. Completed national service, entered university, got my grade 8 piano practical and as well as my driving license. I only regret not being to continue with piano diploma due to the lack of time since entering university while having a part-time administrative job.

I am stepping up to the post of publicity and productions officer in Youth portfolio this academic year. The academic year has yet to start and the pressure is already setting in. Effective usage of time will be the key in the upcoming year.

Looking back, I have grown tremendously as a person from the time i entered national service till now. The free time i have during national service has let me broaden my experience and also meet people from various walks of life. I am thankful to have met Seng Hock & Nancy, Eddie & Michelle, Gim Leng, Yue Weng, Angela and Shen through network 21. The experience has made me into a more outspoken person, and also to always look at the bright side of things; power of positive thinking.

Worked at Resorts World Sentosa for a short stint of six months before beginning my university path. In there, I have met many helpful colleagues and bosses, all of whom were very kind and patient. If anything, I have picked up the importance of connections during my time spent there and what goes on at the back of house. Nothing is always as it seems on the surface.

My current work at Newstead is nothing but full of surprises. I have never imagined myself working in the retail sector. It has been an enriching experience. Never did i thought i would enjoy conversing with people, be it doing sales or random chit-chat. Having experienced the rigor of retail work, I would prefer a desk job or at least one that does not eat into my weekends. It sucks having to work while your friends are meeting up. The end of my term of work is nearing, i will miss the colleagues and environment but not the work itself.

I would like to find a job next as a piano teacher to gain some experience and exposure. Till then, i will be polishing up on my techniques ad ensuring that they do not deteriorate any further.

Camp in six hours and i have yet to start packing, time to pack and complete some work before leaving for camp!
