had no mood to blog for the past few days...hahas cuz finally found my motivation to study!!(hahas, at least willing to do some work le >.<), but not to the extent of mugging yet =) will stop watching all mangas and animes as of today onwards to concentrate, but still play warcraft/dota..erm...not more than an hour a day. think i will probably need to spend 2 days catching up on the animes and mangas after 'o' levels TT(that's alot of time)..i will just put up a composition for group work here :)



‘Parents and teachers are partners in the education of children.’ In what ways can parents and teachers contribute to the education of children?

Parents and teachers are partners in the education of children as they are associated in the same endeavor – to aid children in their never ending quest for knowledge. There are many ways in which parents and teachers can contribute to the education of children – building a conducive environment to study in, inspiring children to study and ensuring that knowledge is imparted to the students in an interesting manner.
Firstly, parents and teachers serve as facilitators, building a conducive environment to ensure that children study under favourable conditions. This will greatly aid children in terms of concentration as they would not be easily distracted from studying. Through a better focus, children are able to process the knowledge given to them quickly and perceive things easily, thus increasing their studying efficiency. The ability to perceive things is an important factor for children to excel in their studies; they are able to comprehend questions and answer them in an appropriate way. Being able to process information given to them quickly enables children to learn at a much faster rate; children learn more things in a shorter period of time. This also gives the children more time for other pursuits. With more time for other pursuits, children will have more chances to relax, allowing them to release stress and be mentally fit when studying.
Secondly, parents and teachers can motivate children to study by fulfilling their roles as motivators. For instance, parents can study together with their children when they are free, giving children the moral support and inspiration to perform well. This also encourages lifelong learning; something that the children can learn to do in future. Teachers can encourage children to do well and try to give them a reason to excel in their studies. Parents and teachers should try to reward the children when they perform remarkably well in something. This will motivate the children to do well and outperform themselves. By motivating children to do well through positive ways, they will be willing to study hard and progress in their education.
Thirdly, parents and teachers can ensure that knowledge is imparted to the children in an interesting manner. This can keep the flame alive inside some of the children to persevere and study hard. Parents can accompany their children in studying so that children will feel that learning can be fun after all. Teachers need not always be teaching children within the four walls of the classrooms; they can bring the children outdoors to study. By bringing children outdoors to study, they will look at learning from a different point of view. Learning will never be the same to them again. Teachers can also teach students various types and methods of learning- passive learning and active learning. The children will then find a style of learning that they are most comfortable with and can achieve results. Through various methods of teaching, teachers will be able to instill the thirst for knowledge in the children; spurring the children towards greater heights as they strive to do well.
Parents and teachers are very important to the education of the children as their actions could possibly induce in children the motivation to study. Therefore, they should always be looking for new ways to contribute to the education of children.
